Prof. (Mrs) Biloris Lyndem
Prof.
(Mrs.) Biloris Lyndem had served as a
professor & Head of center for Adult and
Continuing Education. Served as a Professor &
Head for Center for Distance Education from
1994-2004.Director of College Development and
Counselor/Coordinator of IGNOU Study Center
Shillong from 1991-2004. She is also the founder
Director of the State Resource Center, Since
1987,a center that caters to the literacy Mission
that organizes and provides academic resource
support to the states of Meghalaya, Mizoram and
Nagaland. Professor Lyndem had developed ready
materials for the three states, which are in the
use for the literacy campaign. In the year 1999
she won the Sardar Vallabhai Patel award for
empowering women from the grass root level. She
had frontline the higher and Mass Education for
more than 3 decades. She is also connected with
the UNESCO projects in Mizoram and also the
evaluator of the National Literacy projects for
Manipur and Assam. She is a Permanent Member of
NEISSR (North Eastern Institute of Social Science
and Research).
In
association with the UNESCO and Indian National
Commission she had visited countries like China,
Thailand, Iran, UK and U.S.A.

Present
portfolio:
She
is the chairperson of the Meghalaya State
Commission for Women’s since Nov 2004, Which
aims at improving the status of women in a
matrilineal society. She is also working as the
National Commission for Women’s Expert for the
North East.
